There is supposed to be a connection between blue whales, pirates and toenails. The same goes for Cleopatra and Beate Uhse. Presenter William Cohn tries to get to the bottom of this claim for the ZDFneo summer programme. In the six-part documentary series produced by btf, he provides lots of facts and curiosities. It’s about “Ingenious Inventions”, such as the wheel, the telephone or the number zero: all intellectual flights of fancy and technical precision landings that have changed the lives of millions of people. Also explored are “Stars of History”, “Amazing Records”, “Nebulous Mysteries”, the peculiarities of the Germans in “Remarkably German” and finally “Mysterious Oceans”.
