That’s where movement comes into play.

The graphic work of the LED walls for ARD’s broadcast of the winter games in Pyeongchang took place in February 2018. The fundamental element of the studio’s broadcast was the large LED wall, which alternated between a live image of the venue and pre-created LED content, as the spotlight on the sport became the focus. The textures of the LED wall blended in visual distortion between images of the individual venues or the participating athletes and an iridescent color surface. The goal was to provide a certain dynamic to otherwise static photos on a large surface. Due to the time delay between Germany and South Korea, prompt editing and the customizability of the individual LED content was particularly needed, so that depending on the situation (studio guests, medal winner, etc.) a relevant display could always be provided.
